Goshen Women’s National Championship is here

The Goshen Women’s National Championship kicks off at Bingu National stadium in Lilongwe tomorrow.
Through his Goshen City Investment, Prophet Shepherd Bushiri is sponsoring the ten-team tournament to the tune of K21 million.
Earlier today, Goshen City unveiled uniforms for the teams that will participate in the competition.
“Our core value is to bring out the best players. We have seen how the Scorchers have done at Cosafa and we want the same to trickle down to the clubs and make sure that teams progress. We want Malawi to do better at AFCON and World Cup competitions,” said Aubrey Kusakala who is the PR manager for Goshen City.
On he part, National Women’s Football Association chairperson Adellaide Migogo said; “We are expecting people to come and watch us and see how we are progressing in women’s football. They have seen the Scorcher playing on TVs and here is the time to seed where the national team seed comes from.”
Champions for the Goshen Women’s National event will walk away with K8 million with runners-up pocketing K4 million while 3rd-placed and 4th-placed sides will receive K2 million and K1.5 million respectively.

The final will be played on Sunday.
