UMP ticket sale starts
Organisers of this year’s Urban Music Party (UMP) have announced the start of selling of ‘early birds’ tickets ahead of the main even slated for Cape Maclear in Mangochi between 25 and 28 October.
UMP Festival spokesperson Marie Thom says the ticket are ‘limited’ and will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis for logistics purposes.
“The tickets have been categorised into Regular, VIP and Family going at K30,000, K60,000 and K100,000 respectively. Each package will have different benefits,” she said.
“Regular tickets give access to venue entrance, performances and participation of games and other activities. On the other hand, VIP tickets offers you access to VIP restroom facilities, served catering with a variety of food options, VIP parking or transportation options and complimentary VIP merchandise among several other benefits,” Thom clarified.
Different from all the previous editions however, this year’s event has considered the incorporation of kids.
According to the UMP Festival spokesperson; “Family package tickets offers you and your family to a mini festival/activity for kids, kids’ area, playground hence the ticket will cover that plus entry for the adults in the other areas too.”
Dubbed the Evolution, the festival’s 2024 edition will have a number of trendy musicians including legends.
Among those that have been confirmed to entertain the masses with trilling music at the evet include Onesimus, Lomwe, Phyzix, Mario Bros, Gibo Pearson, Nepman, Afana Ceez, Zonke Too Fresh, Temwa, Trumel and Bucci.
The organisers are expected to release a final list of local performing artists as well as international headliners who will be announced in due course.
