TNM Super League money up to K500m
TNM Plc. has made a 233 percent annual sponsorship hike to the Super League, moving the stakes from last season’s K150 million to K500 million per season for three years.
The sponsorship increment news was made by TNM chief executive officer Michel Hebert in Blantyre on Wednesday.
“At TNM we believe in football. Every Malawian has a huge passion for football, and TNM is Malawian. It is our duty to contribute to football for everyone in the country hence the sponsorship increment. The whole idea is to make the league more competitive,” stressed the TNM boss.
On his part, Super League of Malawi (Sulom) president Gilbert Mittawa thanked TNM for the sponsors.
“We are sincerely grateful to the sponsors (TNM) for the great increase of the package into the league. This increase will make the league competitive and attractive and it will ensure that the game of football in Malawi is transformed,” Mittawa said.
The new package will see champions walking away with K100 million with K40 million and K30 million going to runners up and third placed side respectively.
Each club will receive K10 million per season as subvention.
Player of the season and the top goal scorer will pocket K3 million and K2 million respectively while the other categories have been allocated a million each just like the most disciplined supporters will receive.
