AFORD convention set for July
Alliance for Democracy (AFORD) set to hold an elective convention in July this year ahead of the 2025 general elections.
AFORD publicity secretary Annie Maluwa said everything is already in place and will shorty provide details of the event.
“In the meantime, we are in the process of building our party strong through meetings with our members across the districts. We are currently left with few areas but we are confident to reach them before the convention dates.
“The whole essence of having these meetings is to ensure that the convention gets patronized by true AFORD members,” narrated Maluwa.
On whether they will be on the ballot alone or enter into an electoral alliance towards 2025 polls, Maluwa was not clear arguing Malawians will be told at a later stage regarding their final stand.
AFORD was part of the nine parties that formed the Lazarus Chakwera led Tonse Alliance which won the June 2020 fresh presidential elections.
