Malawi settles for bronze at Cosafa beach soccer

Malawi beach soccer national team claimed bronze medal the Cosafa Beach Soccer Championship in Durban, South Africa.
Malawi had a thrilling 5-4 victory over guest nation Saudi Arabia, the first non-African team to compete at a Cosafa event.
Malawi eventually came put on top thanks to goals from their inspirational captain Isaac Kajam (two), Oblen Khumbula (two) and Dala Dala.
His brace moved Kajam to nine goals for the competition.
“Am happy that we have managed to reach this far because the odds were against us but we have won. We have learnt a lot at this tournament and we hope to return a better team next time,” said the Malawi coach Willy Kumilambe.
Malawi took the Fair Play award with their player Kajam winning Golden Boot award.
