Bushiri rescues Nsanje with maize
Prophet Shepherd Bushiri has responded to an alarm which was sent to him by hunger-stricken families in the area of TA Mbenje in Nsanje district by providing maize to them.
Last month, some chiefs and their subordinates in the district called on Bushiri to bail them out from hunger as people were dying of hunger related diseases as others are eating wild water tubers known as Nyika.
Speaking at Nyamitalala Primary School when he met Fanuel Benda a man who lost his wife due to a crocodile attack when she went to fetch Nyika, Prophet Bushiri said it was disheartening to see residents losing lives due to hunger.
Meanwhile, Bushiri has called on stakeholders to intervene in making sure that the underprivileged Malawians are bailed out from the current challenges.
“These are trying times, bad moments, it is very sad that people are getting injured and dying of hunger directly or indirectly and it is high time for all well-wishers to rise up to the occasion and help our brothers and sisters”, he said.
So far, through his Shepherd Bushiri Foundation, the Enlightened Christian Gathering the Jesus Nation leader has reached out to hundreds of thousands of Malawians in Ntcheu, Mulanje, Thyolo, Zomba, Lilongwe, Nkhatabay, Mzimba and Nsanje districts.
