Airtel, FAM discussing on Top8 return

Discussions are underway between Airtel Malawi Plc. and the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) for the possible return of the Top8 competition after the expiry of the 6th season.
Speaking at the 2023 Airtel Top8 awards ceremony in Blantyre on Tuesday, the company’s managing director Charles Kamoto made hinted on the return while describing the immediate past season as a success.
“We are in conversation time with FAM to see how we can move forward in the next season,” highlighted the Airtel managing director.
Meanwhile, FAM president Fleetwood Haiya is hopeful of seeing the telecoms company renewing the agreement with the FA for another era.
Haiya said: “We are ready for the new season. We are just waiting for Airtel to announce the unveiling dates. We have already put measures in control to make sure that everything is in order ahead of the new editions.”
Both officials from Airtel and FAM have described the just ended season a success.
