Police discover bullets, money in seized containers

The police have confirmed the discovery of five rounds ammunition of an AK47 riffle in one of the shipping containers confiscated from refugees.

One Malawian man has since been arrested.

‘’He claims that the container belonged to his boss who was recently deported by the ministry of homeland security. This is however against his earlier confession that among the containers that are being opened and searched 8 were his.’’ emphasized Peter Kalaya national police spokesperson.

Apart from the live ammunition, the police also found money amounting to K1.4 million in the same container.

Kalaya added that: “The discovery of the items have been made possible by the sniffing dogs that are helping us in the exercise.’’

Currently at Lingadzi Police Station, the man will be taken to court where he will be formerly charged.
