Mnangagwa sworn in after disputed Zimbabwe poll
President Emmerson Mnangagwa has taken his oath of office, at the start of his second term, swearing to uphold the constitution.
He was sworn in by Chief Justice Luke Malaba in front of tens of thousands of supporters from his Zanu-PF party.
Regional leaders including South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and Mozambique’s leader Filipe Nyusi attended the event, so too is former first lady Grace Mugabe.
Official results show that Mnangagwa won last month’s poll with close to 53% of the vote, which international observers said fell short of democratic standards.
Meanwhile, main opposition party has confirmed that it will not seek to overturn the presidential election result in court.
