FDH donates K5m to MUST golf tourney
FDH Back Plc. has come to the rescue of some needy students at the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) by donating K5 million.
The money will go towards a golf tournament set for mid this month aimed at raising funds for the needy students pursuing their studies at the institution.
The golf tournament is among many activities under the ‘Come Back To Campus’ initiative which the higher learning institution is undertaking.
Alfred Chinombo who is the registrar at MUST says; “it is painful to witness thousands of students withdrawing from public universities due to financial constraints. Students that are on the verge of missing out, with partial funding or those that failed to report despite being selected due to funding constraints will be supported with funds realised the initiatives we have put in place.”
According to FDH Bank head of finance Richard Chipezaani, the bank has and will always support education as one of the key success factors for any country.
“MUST has been our partner and we have supported many students at the institution. We believe in investing for the citizenry because we know that helping them will help to improve the country’s development,” said Chipezaan.
State Vice President Saulos Chilima is expected to grace the golf event and at least K250 million is expected to be raised at the event.
