2 arrested over illegal fuel deals in Nsanje

The Police in Nsanje are keeping in custody two men for being found in possession and transportation of liquid fuel without a permit.

Nsanje Police Station spokesperson Declare Mbukwa has confirmed the development in a statement which Capital FM has seen.

The two have been identified as Bashir Mahommed,38, and Hammad Salema,36.

“After a follow-up, police officers intercepted the said motor vehicle, a One Tonner Pick-up Registration Number BY5470 and upon searching they found five 200-litre drums full of petrol and then immediately arrested the suspects and seized the fuel.” Explained Mbukwa.

The suspects will appear in court soon to answer a case of Transportation and Possession of liquid fuel without a permit.

The two suspects hail from Ligobwa Village, Traditional Authority Ndamera in Nsanje District.
