Lilongwe man arrested for illegal possession of medical drugs
Police at Njewa in Lilongwe have arrested a 47-year-old man for being found in possession and selling of medical drugs without a license.
Lilongwe police spokesperson Hastings Chigalu has identified the suspect as Mathews Kuwili.
It is reported that the suspect was seen selling the medical drugs to communities on a door-to-door service.
According to Chigalu, Kuwili was immediately apprehended and taken to the police unit for interrogation.
“Upon being searched, the suspect was found with assorted medical drugs, some bearing the Malawi Government name. The suspect was then arrested after failing to produce valid documents for the possession of the drugs,” Chigalu said.
The suspect is currently in police custody at Lilongwe Police Station pending court appearance soon to face illegal possession of medical drugs.
