Ntopwa plead for support in CAF
Ntopwa Super Queens owner Isaac Jomo Osman is appealing for support ahead of the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League/COSAFA Qualifiers.
The team has been drawn in Group A along with Lesotho Defence Force, Double Action Ladies from Botswana and Green Buffaloes from Zambia.
The tournament is slated for the 30th of this month up to September 8 in Durban, South Africa.
Osman says his budget is at least K50 million; “initially we had a K40 million budget but now with the high cost of living, the budget has increased to around K50 million.
“So far, we have managed to get air tickets and the Football Association of Malawi – FAM has also come in to help us with a two week camping at their facilities in Blantyre. Now we are looking for uniforms, balls, and boots.
“We are not going there as Ntopwa but we are going there as Malawian representatives. We would therefore like to ask everyone who can manage, to support us including the State President Lazarus Chakwera.
On the other hand, Mamelodi Sundowns are in Group B along with Olympic de Moroni of Comoros, Costa Do Sol of Mozambique and Young Buffaloes of Eswatini.
Two teams from each group will progress to the semifinal and the overall winner will qualify for CAF Afcon finals in Ivory Coast later in November.
