Former Flames captain’s book commended
Has launched a new book - Gondwe
The newly launched book by Flames legend Chancy Gondwe is being touted as an aspiration to the current players to avoid indulging in bad behaviors.
Titled Sports and Church; The Deception, the book by Gondwe inspires players to stick to morals and walk through a prayerful life to be successful.
Speaking after the launch of the second book in Lilongwe on Friday, Gondwe said; “the book is focusing on how sports can be used to reach out to the world to proclaim the gospel.”
On his part, Football Association of Malawi president Walter Nyamilandu said; “there are a lot of bad behaviors which we are practicing in football like use of Juju, excessive beer drinking and drug abuse which result in ending up players’ careers prematurely. The church teaches us good values of life and we believe that these players can be saved if they accept Christ.”
In 2020, the retired maestro midfielder also launched a book titled; ‘Chancy Vinny Gondwe and the untold history of Malawian football’.
