Representatives of NICO General are describing their newly launched WhatsApp Chatbox and Broker Portal platforms as more effective in servicing their customers.

Launched in Blantyre on Wednesday, the two products will help customers to buy insurance premiums at any given time of the day without using papers.

Speaking after the launch, the company’s chief executive officer Donbell Mandala said service delivery will be instant and the new initiative will be cost effective.

“What we are looking for is efficiency. We want our brokers to be able to interact with us timely and that will be instant. We will have in our system whatever they will have in theirs as well.” Touted the chief executive officer.

On his part, president of the Insurance Brokers Association of Malawi Delvin Khongono has commended the new initiative by NICO arguing it will give them advantage to conduct their operations without necessarily visiting NICO offices.

“This is a right time for these products to be launched since the world is going digital. Gone are the days when we would exchange hardcopies. This will give us a chance to do our work at the comfort of our own time.” Khongono said.

Through the WhatsApp Chatbox, customers will be using +265 991 323 323 call centre number to access NICO General services which include buying motor insurance through a WhatsApp text.

Similarly, brokers will be able to buy insurance, lodge a claim and check premium balances through the Broker Portal online platform.
