Teacher nabbed for flouting examination regulations

A secondary school teacher is in police custody for flouting Malawi School Certificate of Education-MSCE examination regulations.

According to the Malawi National Examinations Board-MANEB, police in Blantyre arrested Gift Maguza, a teacher at Finish Line Private Secondary School for taking photos of confidential instructions for the Agriculture practical exam.

He shared the pictures using his phone with a colleague from the same learning institution.

In a related development, two teachers, James Mbeta and Bright Kandoje of St. Joseph Catholic Private School in Chiradzulu are on the run for committing a similar offence.

They shared Biology practical examination photos to an unknown candidate.

The three teachers are expected to answer the charge of revealing contents of national examinations.

At least 160, 586 candidates are sitting for the exams of which 74, 991 are female while 85, 595 are male.
