Airtel Malawi Plc brings TV on-the-go
Airtel Malawi Plc has launched its first ever mobile TV streaming app called Airtel TV in Lilongwe.
According to the company, the TV App will enable viewers to stream local and international channels.
The Airtel TV App is billed to revolutionize access to Television content by enabling viewers on the Airtel network to access news, programs and entertainment straight from their mobile phones.
Speaking to Capital FM, Airtel Marketing Director Thokozani Sande said the mobile company has partnered with local television stations, as well as one of the leading content creators HD plus Creations whose content will be featured.
“Airtel TV has been designed to give you the freedom to watch your favorite TV shows, movies, and live events anytime, anywhere, straight from your mobile device,” Sande explained.
Subscribers will be able to access it by downloading on the Apple iOS store and Google Playstore for android and it is also already embedded on the Airtel mobile App.
Sande said: “the demand for entertainment on-the-go has been on the rise in recent years, and that’s why we have made sure that Airtel TV is easily accessible to everyone with just a few clicks”.
HD plus Creations Marketing Manager Alex Kachepa commented saying the platform will allow entertainment content creators to produce more for the mobile television.
“The platform will encourage local content producers to come into the limelight, knowing that they have a definite targeted audience,” Kachepa said.
Apart from delivering local content, Airtel Malawi are also promising to showcase an extensive selection Bollywood and Nollywood content within the first phase of running the app.
It has also incorporated a range of features that will enhance viewing experience giving an example of creation of a personalized watch list, switch streaming resolution options according to your data plan, and even share videos with friends and family.
