SULOM dangles Chilomoni stadium to clubs
The Super League of Malawi (SULOM) is revealing that it is discussing with various clubs that are willing to lease Chilomoni Stadium.
The Blantyre-based facility, which is in unfeasible state, has not hosted any top flight league or cup matches for a very long time.
SULOM President, Tiya Somba Banda, indicates that they will hand over the facility to the successful club once discussions are concluded and an agreement sealed.
Last Thursday, Football Association of Malawi expressed its readiness to incorporate Chilomoni Stadium into its plans targeting the FIFA Forward Funding.
Under the world governing body’s funding, the local FA is expected to get at least three billion kwacha for projects in a four-year period starting this month.
FAM is required to submit a project proposal and funding would only be released if the proposal meets all laid down criteria and is duly approved by the FIFA Projects Committee.
