Ex-Flames stars pay tribute to Pele
A local football icon has implored budding players to emulate the exceptional professionalism displayed by Brazilian legend Pele.
The Brazilian legend who died yesterday at the age of 82, is considered as one of the world’s greatest footballers.
During his illustrious career, his team won the World Cup thrice.
Sports men from across the globe are taking turns in paying tribute to Pele.
And one of the local football icons Chancy Vinnie Gondwe who played for the Flames from the late 1980s to the early 2000s describes the late Pele as someone with exceptional talent.
Gondwe adds that there is a lot that the current crop of footballers can learn from Pele’s successful football track record to better their careers.
Paying his tribute through his Twitter handle, President of the Football Association of Malawi Walter Nyamilandu expressed sorrow while labelling Pele as a legend.
Another Malawian footballer that has also paid homage to Pele is Esau Kanyenda who while announcing of the death to his twitter followers describes him as legendary.
