Airtel Money donates towards bankers’ conference
Airtel Money has given a K5 million boost towards the Banker’s Association of Malawi annual conference scheduled for this weekend.
Making the donation on Tuesday, Airtel Money Marketing Manager Virginia Jere, pointed out that for their business to continue flourishing they need to enhance partnership with the banks.
“We were the first player in the mobile money sector to link our mobile money platform with the banks, as such we recognize and value the partnership hence the donation. This conference is an opportunity for us to have a conversation and share new ideas on how we can grow our financial technology sector’’Jere adds.
Representing the BAM, Head of Marketing for My Bucks, Lindani Simwaka Nkosi commended Airtel Money for the donation, saying it will go a long way in making this year’s conference a success.
According to Nkosi the conference will dwell on discussions around digital transformation, which goes a long way in strengthening the partnerships BAM has with various players in the financial sector including Airtel.
The conference is set to be held under the theme “Catching tomorrow today, positioning for unprecedented digital transformation’’.
