Miss Malawi 2022 contestants get Early Childhood Development training
Nyasa International Academy has provided Early Childhood Development (EDC) training to 20 contestants of this year’s Miss Malawi beauty pageant in Blantyre.
The training which started on Wednesday is line with this year’s theme of the beauty pageant, which centres on ECD.
Rubina Hajat who is the institution’s founder and Managing Director said this is a great opportunity to work with the Miss Malawi team towards addressing matters at hand.
“I feel that in Malawi Early Childhood Development has been something that needs to be taken on board because many children are neglected. If I have an opportunity to work with these contestants on the theme, I believe they will make a difference by educating the whole nation,” she said.
On her part, Business Development Officer for the beauty pageant, Clara Saeluzika stressed that the event is not only beauty, but also the brain.
“Whatever they have learnt here is what we are looking for. We are also observing how sharp they are,” Saeluzika emphasized.
One of the contestants, Grace Mazinga, said, “ this is a very good opportunity for everyone, even those outside this contest”.
The grand finale of the beauty pageant will be held on 3 December in Lilongwe.
Tiwonge Munthali was the last Miss Malawi queen.
