Malawi government to continue refugees’ relocation
The government is revealing that it will proceed with relocating asylum seekers and refugees to Dzaleka Camp in Dowa.
According to Homeland Security Minister Jean Sendeza the refugees are encouraged to relocate voluntarily.
A court review recently ruled that the government should go ahead with the relocation of asylum seekers and refugees.
The government has since issued a notice to relocate the refugees residing in rural areas by 20th November this year and February 1st next year for those living in urban areas.
Addressing journalists in Lilongwe yesterday, Sendeza went on to say that the government will use the Police to protect the relocating refugees and their property.
And in his remarks Minister of Information and Chief Government spokesperson Gospel Kazako said people have the right to know what is happening with security in the country.
He further cautioned the citizenry to avoid taking the law into their own hands stressing it brings anarchy and mob justice.
