Chawinga lands Inter Milan deal
Italian women’s football club Inter Milan, is yet to release full details of a loan deal with Malawi national team forward Tabitha Chawinga.
The national football team star has been loaned from China’s Wuhan Jiangda FC where she was based along with her sister, Temwa.
The development will see Chawinga becoming Malawi’s first women’s football export to Europe.
Tabitha confirmed to Capital FM on Tuesday that she has signed a year-long loan deal with Italian Women Serie A club.
As of yesterday she has started attending a training sessions at her new club.
However, the Scorchers forward will not be able to attend to national duties, owing to club commitments.
The Scorchers are from next week set to launch their Hollywoodbets COSAFA Cup campaign to run from for 31 August 11 to September in South Africa.
Malawi has been drawn in Group C along with Botswana, the Comoros and guest nation, Tanzania, who are the defending champions.
