Shoprite only closing one outlet

The management of the chain store, Shoprite, has assured local finance authorities that they are not leaving the country.
Finance Minister Sosten Gwengwe disclosed this in parliament, yesterday after legislators demanded an official position on reports that Shoprite was closing shop in the country.
Gwengwe told the house that out of six Shoprite outlets in the country only one will close down due to non-profit making in the past three years.
The minister said Shoprite will only close its Zomba U-Save outlet.
According to the Minister, the Shoprite management is expected to give the government the same assurance in writing and clarify issues.
However, with the lone outlet closure, there will be 25 job cuts.
