Ministry of Health enhances Polio vaccination campaign
Health authorities are imploring community and religious leaders to play their role of encouraging their subordinates to get their children vaccinated against polio.
Minister of Health, Khumbize Chiponda made the remarks during the launch of the third phase of the polio vaccination exercise which will run until next Sunday 14 August.
The first phase was done in March while the second was conducted in April following a polio case which was discovered in Area 24 in Lilongwe earlier this year.
The vaccine is given to children below the age of five across the country.
Meanwhile, UNICEF Malawi has handed over 11,000 phones and 1,000 internet connectivity gadgets that will strengthen data collection.
