The governing DPP has officially snubbed the presidential and running mates debates relating to the May 21 elections.
The party has made its position clear in a statement released by the Secretary General Greselder Jeffrey.
This comes a week after the DPP running mate Everton Chimulirenji chickened out of the first running mate debate in Lilongwe.
Chimulirenji did not make an official apology for not participating at the debate which is organised by Zodiak Broadcasting Station. However his decision attracted criticism from the public including commentators who described it as a missed opportunity.
Many believe that the party could have used the platform to as means of winning trust from the electorate.
The second phase of the debate, which will also be aired on Capital FM, is set for Thursday evening in Blantyre.
A media organisation-MISA Malawi in collaboration with various stakeholders will also hold presidential debates later this month.
In the statement, Jeffrey states that the party has reservations about the integrity of the organisations organising the debates.
There was no immediate comment from the organisers of the event on the matter.
