MANEB releases PTCE examinations results – Capital Radio Malawi

At least 5,170 out of 5,214 candidates who sat for the 2023 Primary Teacher Certificate of Education – PTCE examination have passed representing 99.16 percent pass rate.

This is according to a statement which has been signed by the Malawi National Examinations Board – MANEB executive director, Dorothy Nampota.

For a candidate to pass the PTCE examinations, they are required to pass all the seven subjects including Teaching Practices.

The statement has also indicated that out of the 2,909 female candidates who sat for the examinations, 2,883 have passed representing 99.11 percent pass rate while on the other hand, 2,287 male candidates have passed out of the 2,305 who sat for the exams.

“Out of the 51 Special Needs Education – SNE candidates who sat for this examination, 48 have passed representing 94.12 percent pass rate. 32 out of the 33 SNE male candidates who sat for the examination have passed representing 96.97 percent pass rate while 16 female candidates have passed out of the 18 SNE female candidates who sat for this examination representing 88.89 percent pass rate.” Reads part of the statement.

It further highlights that the top five Teacher Training Colleges based on percentage of candidates with A’s and B’s are Blantyre, Mzimba, Maryam Girls, Phalombe and Dowa.

While the bottom five Teacher Training Colleges are Machinga, Lilongwe, Chiradzulu, Loudon and Kasungu.

MANEB has since indicated that all the queries should be submitted to its offices in Zomba not later than August 31.
