BACKGROUND

Capital Radio is a privately owned commercial radio station that was launched 29th March 1999 by veteran journalist Alaudin Osman.

Capital Radio has been voted The Electronic Media House of the Year for three consecutive years – 2004, 2005 and 2006 by the Malawi chapter of the National Media Institute of Southern Africa

We are a station that values civic responsibility and seeks to give the people of Malawi a new voice by providing quality broadcast news, information and entertainment programming. We seek to exert positive leadership by producing news and information that is accessible by the people in order to promote an engaged and participative democracy.

We provide continuous entertainment with music from various genres in the world of Adult Contemporary (AC) radio format.
