PARTICIPATE IN ISSUES OF NATIONAL
IMPORTANCE.
TAKE PART IN THIS WEEK'S SUNDAY DEBATE.
Topic:
Our topic of discussion is on
issues of the rule of law. Comments have been
pouring in on issues of upholding the rule of
law in the country. Commentators continue to criticise
the government authorities for what they term
as breach of the country's constitution. They
claim that the current administration does not
respect and neither does it uphold the constitution.
A recent example that has been cited by opposition
political parties is the situation in parliament
where business is being transacted without the
house forming a quorum. But other commentators
including government officials have argued that
the current administration respects the rule of
law. This debate has raised questions on what
should be done to make sure that the country's
democracy is on track.
The Questions:
1. To what extent is the country's
constitution being upheld?
2. What are the views of members
of the public on issues of respect for the rule
of law?
3. What is the expert view of
legal practitioners on parliament transacting
business without forming a quorum?
